Looking for places to beat the heat this summer? Here are a few local ideas for the Angelinos who read the blog. We hope they inspire you to look for similar places in your local area!
Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain at Grand Park
I love this splash pad! It’s in downtown Los Angeles (near City Hall) and it is a fountain that resembles a splash pad. Bring some trucks to roll around in the water, buckets to pour water into and other water toys for the kiddos. Bonus? There’s a coffee shop right next door for Mom & Dad!
Find your local YMCA’s swimming schedule and grab your towel! They usually have open swim a few times a day and it is a great place for the whole family to hop into the pool. Some offer swim lessons which can be a plus, too!
Annenberg Community Beach House
This beach house is so fun!! There are snack shacks, beach front areas to build sand castles and a path to ride a beach cruiser. Pack your bags for a whole day because you won’t want to leave!
Find a local sno-cone spot and pick a few of your favorite flavors.
Echo Park Lake
Grab a canoe and get on the lake! There are paddle boats and fountains that you can enjoy around this lake. Pack a picnic, find a park bench and cool off from the sun!
