Whereas mornings are filled with fresh faces and (often) extra grace from everyone, the evenings tend to be the exact opposite. We as parents are spent from a busy work day. The children are spent from a long day of thinking at school. The toddlers are wound up and excited to try to get all of mom or dad’s attention. Some of our families find it helpful to be out and about until the last moment. Then come home for dinner and bedtime routines. Other families are in need of extended wind down time before dinner and bed. Some babies are wound up by bath time before bed. Others find it relaxing and soothing. Whatever the rhythm might be, we encourage you to take a moment and evaluate the evening rhythms you have in place. Do any of them need to change? How can I make our evenings more peaceful?
